Click to enlarge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a title=\"Star Wars in 3D\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hometheatermag.com\/news\/100110starwars\/\" target=\"_blank\">George Lucas recently announced that he&#8217;ll be converting all six Star Wars movies to 3D. <\/a> The technology exists to allow filmmakers to take any film photographed in 2D and convert it to the new 3D process currently being showcased in movies theaters.<\/p>\n<p>This opens the possibility for many other classic movies to be converted to 3D.<\/p>\n<p>Now, isn&#8217;t it obvious which classic film needs to be converted to this new 3D process?\u00a0 I&#8217;ve dreamed of this for the last 30 years.\u00a0 And now, technology can make it possible.\u00a0 My wish of the last 30 years will finally be realized and I&#8217;m hoping the owners of the film see the same possibility.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m talking about <em>The Wizard Of Oz<\/em>.\u00a0 (BTW, check out the\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002DYYGQK?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=oneclilin-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B002DYYGQK\">The Wizard of Oz (70th Anniversary Two-Disc Special Edition)<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=oneclilin-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B002DYYGQK\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>)<\/p>\n<p>Hey, Hollywood here&#8217;s how you implement this new technology and reap millions of dollars:<\/p>\n<p><strong>COLORIZE the beginning and the end of the film<\/strong>.\u00a0 These are the sequences originally shot in Sepia tone.\u00a0 <strong>Then, when Dorothy steps into Oz, turn on the 3D!<\/strong> Movie goers will experience the film in an entirely new way!\u00a0 And this method still retains the the film&#8217;s traditional roots of\u00a0 B&amp;W\/sepia when Dorothy was in the real world, and color when she stepped into Oz (okay, okay, yeah, I know, she landed in Muchkinland.\u00a0 Details, details).\u00a0 Point is, the 3D effect keeps Oz as being presented in it&#8217;s fantasy\/dream world state. Adding color to the &#8220;bookends&#8221; of the film just update it a bit for audiences who like color.<\/p>\n<p>Both technologies exist.\u00a0 The Wizard of Oz already went through a major upgrade and restoration. So a pristine Ultra high definition print\/digital file exists.
