\"KOUK\"<\/a>My brother Dave often refers to me as, “The king of useless knowledge.”\u00a0 The nickname came about due to my being able to answer somewhat obscure trivia questions or relate little bits of information.\u00a0 This skill really serves no useful purpose other than filling up the still night air with a bit of sound.<\/p>\n

So, I decided to turn it into a blog post.<\/p>\n

From time to time, I’ll post some of my “King Of Useless Knowledge” tidbits that I’ve accumulated over the years.<\/p>\n

Let’s kick things off:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Burkes Law<\/strong><\/em> was a 1960s television show starring Gene Barry that featured a Rolls Royce.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Buddy Ebsen was originally cast as the Tin Man in The Wizard Of Oz<\/strong>.\u00a0 Actually, he was cast as the Scarecrow but switched parts with Ray Bolger.\u00a0 He ended up in an oxygen tent because his lungs became coated by aluminum dust from the tin man\u00a0 makeup.\u00a0 They changed it after Jack Haley took over the roll.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Jerry Van Dyke starred in the television show My Mother The Car<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0 The car was a 1928 Porter.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Harvey Korman was the voice of The Great Gazoo<\/strong> (sometimes Kazoo) on The Flintstones<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0 Characters on cereal boxes are drawn so as to be looking at little kids in shopping carts.\u00a0 It’s true.\u00a0 The cartoon character’s eyes are drawn in such a way that they are looking directly at, and at the same level as the child sitting in a shopping cart or walking down an aisle with mom or dad.<\/p>\n
