{"id":7953,"date":"2016-06-07T05:00:09","date_gmt":"2016-06-07T09:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.georgetoon.com\/blog\/?p=7953"},"modified":"2016-06-06T08:31:08","modified_gmt":"2016-06-06T12:31:08","slug":"chromebooks-and-linux","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.georgetoon.com\/blog\/chromebooks-and-linux\/","title":{"rendered":"Chromebooks and Linux!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been doing more and more cloud computing lately. \u00a0I use a lot of Google&#8217;s services and applications to accomplish my everyday tasks. \u00a0I find myself using Gmail, Google Photos, Google Docs, and Google Drive. \u00a0I access these programs while using the Google Chrome browser. \u00a0Regardless of which Linux computer or Android tablet I&#8217;m on, I can update this blog, email business associates, send photos or comic strips to clients, and never have to worry about\u00a0losing any of my data.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a regular reader of this blog, you know that I&#8217;m a very devoted Linux user. \u00a0I run Linux on all my computer systems. \u00a0And in running Linux, I have the best of both worlds! \u00a0 I can run Linux and all its\u00a0great programs to create my comic strip features (GIMP, Scribus, etc.) and run the Chrome browser which gives me access to all things Google!<\/p>\n<p>However, just as I use a Google Nexus Tablet to do everyday tasks, I&#8217;m leaning toward\u00a0\u00a0getting a Chromebook\u00a0for mobile computing. \u00a0My research has lead me to a terrific Chromebook at a terrific price!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/25FAOjh\">The\u00a0<span id=\"productTitle\" class=\"a-size-large\">ASUS C201 11.6 Inch Chromebook (with Rockchip processor, 4 GB RAM, 16GB SSD, in Navy Blue)<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is a perfect starter Chromebook. \u00a0For under two hundred dollars, it has plenty of memory and processing power. \u00a0And it gives you a battery that allows you<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/ASUS-C201-11-6-Chromebook-Rockchip\/dp\/B00VUV0MG0\/ref=as_li_ss_il?ie=UTF8&amp;psc=1&amp;redirect=true&amp;ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&amp;smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;linkCode=li2&amp;tag=georgetoon-20&amp;linkId=2f6fd5349904fba13592e8c4946563ee\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&amp;ASIN=B00VUV0MG0&amp;Format=_SL160_&amp;ID=AsinImage&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;WS=1&amp;tag=georgetoon-20\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=georgetoon-20&amp;l=li2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B00VUV0MG0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0to do all day computing with having to be constantly plugged in.<\/p>\n<p>Because I use Linux, would I be missing those programs?
