{"id":8289,"date":"2016-09-20T05:00:08","date_gmt":"2016-09-20T09:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.georgetoon.com\/blog\/?p=8289"},"modified":"2016-09-19T13:37:47","modified_gmt":"2016-09-19T17:37:47","slug":"chalk-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.georgetoon.com\/blog\/chalk-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Chalk Festival!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/V1sXR-idrcw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This past Sunday, I attended the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clevelandart.org\/events\/special-events\/chalk-festival\/about-chalk-festival\">Chalk Festival at the Cleveland Museum of Art.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s been years since I picked up a piece of chalk. \u00a0But, what a lot of fun! \u00a0There&#8217;s something quite inviting to getting down on your hands and knees and drawing on smooth piece of sidewalk!<\/p>\n<p>Working with chalk is quite different from the pen and ink, pencils, and pens I use every day to create my cartoons and comic features. \u00a0 But, I gave it a go and had an enormous amount of fun along the way!<\/p>\n<p>The above video features my contribution to the festival as well as the chalk artwork some of the other outstanding artists who made the day a really memorable event.<\/p>\n<p>My nephew Tom drew the sea serpent. \u00a0My niece Brynn did the &#8220;CLE&#8221; tribute to Cleveland, and\u00a0niece Kelly\u00a0(along with her friend Rob), came up with a rather colorful and humorous unicorn drawing.:)<\/p>\n<p>If you live in Northeast Ohio, make it a point to visit this festival or even rol up your sleeves and<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past Sunday, I attended the Chalk Festival at the Cleveland Museum of Art.\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s been years since I picked up a piece of chalk. \u00a0But, what a lot of fun! \u00a0There&#8217;s something quite inviting to getting down on your hands and knees and drawing on smooth piece of sidewalk!
