“Hero of the Empire” was an immensely enjoyable book!

Candice Millard, to my knowledge, and as of this writing, has authored three books. They are: “The River of Doubt,” “Destiny of the Republic,” and “Hero of the Empire.” With the conclusion of “Hero, ” I’ve now read all three.

Any of these three books would make a cracking good movie! “Hero of the Empire,” especially, would make a fabulous film! Simply because, Candice Millard writes as if you are watching a movie. I felt I was on the battlefields, in the confined spaces during Churchill’s escape, and on the veld (grassland) itself.

“Hero of the Empire” is a real page turner. Not only did I learn quite a bit about Sir Winston Churchill, I also received a brief education about South Africa.

An especially wonderful summer read (or any time of the year)!

A shave with Global Shave Club International’s new Espresso TTO Safety Razor! A solid all brass razor!
