Tablets are mobile computing devices. You take them on the go. And, when you transport your tablet, you want to make sure it’s well protected.

I needed a case for my Asus Prime tablet. I didn’t want to get the kind of case that are available for most iPads. These are very similar to book covers. The iPad snaps in and you open the case like a book to access your tablet.

Because the Asus Transformer has the ability to plug into a keyboard dock, I wanted a padded case that was going to accomodate both the tablet and keyboard, as well as, the charger and whatever other little devices (USB thumbdrives, Micros SD card adapters, etc.) I might need.

I pickee up a very good padded cover form Walmart. it’s by Swiss Gear and rally does a nice jjob. ther’s plenty of room for the Asus tablet and additonal room to accomodate the keyboard dock.  it also has a zippered pocket to house the charger, thumbdrives,, etc.

Give it a look.   If you get an Asus Transformer Prime, Consider this Swiss Gear case.  It’s a terrific padded case that allows you to take your tablet on the go while keeping it nicely protected.

Here’s a test reel of the Asus Transformer Prime shooting video at 1080 HD. I thought I’d use my comic strip George as the subject to see if the camera could pick up the non-photo blue pencil lines and the overall sketchy quality of the original strip.

I gotta tell ya, in 1080, it picked up much more detail than i initially thought!
Plus, it gives you a little insight as to how I sometimes work in getting a comic strip idea.

Once again, make sure you go directly to YouTube and toggle 1080 to see the HD quality video.

In case you’re wondering, the inked strip I show in the beginning will run in papers on January 30th.

Here’s another video outside my studio shot at 1080 HD on the Asus Transformer Prime. The hting that really stand out is, if you look through the trees (upper right) at the start of the clip, in 1080, you can clearly see smoke drifiting over the lake from my neighbor’s fireplace chimney.

So, again, make sure you go directly to YouTube and toggle on the 1080 stream to see HD quality.

Here’s a quick video clip shot at 1080 HD on my Asus Transformer Prime just outside my studio.

As the video show, it wasn’t very sunny, so I hope to shoot some more footage when the weather cooperates a bit more.

As a reminder,  make sure you go directly to YouTube and toggle on the 1080 stream to see HD quality.

Here’s a quick video on how to capture a screenshot on the Asus Transformer Prime.

It’s a quick and easy procedure and can be done when running any application be it web pages, videos, games, etc.    And it gives the user insant feedback when completing the procedure. And that feedback has just enough fun eye candy!  (The Android OS is really pleasing to the eye.)

Before I forget , I should also mention my experience with battery life on the the Transformer Prime.  Compared to my 14 inch Lenovo Notebook, the Prime is outstanding!

Asus advertises, “the Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet that offers up to 12 hours of battery life – ideal for both long trips or day-to-day errands.”

Well, I’m easily getting all day computing.  One caveat, though.  In order to get this extended battery life, you need to toggle settings to turn off certain system services. For instance, when it goes into sleep mode, you want the wireless to turn off.   You also want the screen display to adjust to lighting conditions. This is known as “Automatic brightness mode.”  Why have a really bright screen when you have good lighting conditions?   The screen will auto sense and adjust on the fly accordingly.  Also, placing the Prime in Power Saving Mode saves battery life.   Plus, putting it in sleep mode after one or two minutes of inactivity helps.

But even with these measures, the display looks gorgeous and the tablet easily adjusts to meet your computing demands.  Recharging to 100% is complete in only a few hours.

Enjoy the video, I’ll be back with more!
